Hot on the heels of the new Toyota Tundra being unveiled, renderings have hit the web showing what the third-generation Sequoia could look like.
The Sequoia is based on the Tundra and has been on sale since 2008 and during that time, it has undergone very few changes. However, if Toyota launches an updated model based around the new Tundra, it could have a winner on its hands.
In designing the new Sequoia, Kolesa took design inspiration from the 2022 Tundra. As such, the front end includes headlights very similar to those of the new pickup truck complete with LED daytime running lights. This particular rendering has also been presented in an off-road focused TRD Pro guise that includes a pronounced black grille with an LED light bar.

Elsewhere, the SUV has been rendered with black fender flares, black off-road wheels, and black rock sliders. The rear-end is much more angular and aggressive than the outgoing model and includes LED taillights, a beefed-up bumper, and a trailer hitch.
When Toyota does eventually decide to update the Sequoia, it will use the same TNGA-F body-on-frame platform as the 2022 Tundra and new 300-series Land Cruiser. It could also use the same engines as the Tundra, meaning a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 389 hp and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) and a hybridized i-Force Max powertrain which pairs the V6 engine with an electric motor, making for a total of 437 hp and 583 lb-ft (790 Nm).
