The McLaren 765LT Spider was unveiled a few months ago, but the online configurator has only just been released, allowing both customers and us mere mortals to create our dream 765LTs.
The configurator offers no less than 40 different paint options and narrowing them down to one is difficult. Among my personal favorites are Lantana Purple, Vega Blue, Amaranth Red, and Serpentine, although I ultimately opted for Lantana Purple. Those who actually buy a 765LT Spider can dream up pretty much any color imaginable through MSO, so we can only begin to imagine how long it could take to select the perfect paint job.
With the paint selected, the configurator allows you to choose between two different wheel designs, each with four different finishes. Our car has the 10-spoke ultra-lightweight forged wheels with the standard platinum finish. Red brake calipers are also featured, as are the sticky Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires.

A multitude of exterior packages is available for the 765LT Spider, among them the MSO Clubsport Pack with lightweight racing seats, upgraded brakes, and satin carbon fiber accents that tickled our fancy. We also opted for a number of exterior carbon fiber parts, including the rear diffuser, front splitter, rear wing, and carbon front fender vents.
Many areas throughout the cabin can also be customized and a dizzying array of parts can be finished in carbon fiber, while a 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system can also be selected.
So, that’s how we’d spec McLaren’s supercar – if we could afford one, that is. What would your ideal 765LT Spider look like?
