The Volkswagen T-Roc has just been updated for the 2022 model year. The update extends across the entire line-up, including the standard model, the T-Roc R and the T-Roc Cabriolet.
A series of changes have been made to the front fascia of the T-Roc. This includes the fitment of revised headlights which are connected with a light bar stretching across the grille for models equipped with the optional matrix headlights. Lesser models are offered with LED headlights and lack the light bar.
Elsewhere, Volkswagen has equipped the popular T-Roc with vertical fog lights. Noteworthy changes continue at the rear with revised taillights that have been tinted and equipped with new LED light signatures. The rear bumper has also been tweaked. A host of new wheels measuring between 16 and 19-inches have been added to the range.
Making the performance-focused T-Roc R stand out are unique front and rear bumpers, black headlights, vertical stacked daytime running lights, 18-inch Jerez alloy wheels, silver wing mirror caps, a tailgate spoiler, and an available Akrapovic exhaust.

Thorough updates have also been made to the interior of the T-Roc. Among the key changes made is the fitment of a soft-touch dashboard that replaces the hard plastic dashboard of the pre-facelift model. There is also an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and an infotainment screen available in 6.5-inch, 8-inch, and 9.2-inch configurations. The infotainment screen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. VW has also fitted the 2022 T-Roc with the same steering wheel as the VW Golf.
New safety features have been introduced with the IQ.Drive Travel Assist system that includes predictive cruise control and improved front assist and lane assist systems. A park assist system also comes standard.
No powertrain modifications have been made. As such, the entry-level model features a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder with 110 hp whereas a 1.5-liter four-cylinder TSI alternative has 150 hp. Both models are front-wheel drive. A 2.0-liter TSI with 4Motion all-wheel drive and 190 hp is also available, as are a pair of 2.0-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines with 115 hp (FWD) and 150 hp (4Motion) respectively. Driving the flagship T-Roc R is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 296 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.
