Maruti Suzuki has started accepting bookings for the new-generation Celerio in India. The company published a teaser video showing several design features of the budget A-Segment model that aims to become India’s most fuel-efficient petrol car – even though no figures have been released yet.
As we can see, the new model looks a lot more rounded compared to its predecessor with Suzuki referring to the design language as “Dynamic 3D Organic Sculpting”. The sculpted bodywork is full of curves, with toned wheel arches, bubbly headlights, a smaller grille, and sporty bumper intakes.

The cabin is completely redesigned with a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen on the center console surrounded by modern climate vents. Other details we grasped from the video are the hard-touch plastics, dual airbags, the new shift knob for the automated-manual gearbox, the carry-over physical climate controls, and the red accents on the analog instrument cluster. The new generation will also bring more equipment with modern safety and comfort features.
Suzuki introduced the Celerio back in 2014 so it was long due for an update. The new model is expected to move on the more technologically advanced Heartect platform which is already underpinning the slightly larger Suzuki Swift. Under the bonnet, there will be an improved 1,0-liter K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT Engine with Idle Start-Stop system. Suzuki claims the Celerio will be India’s Most Fuel-Efficient Petrol Car stating information from JATO Dynamics.
We will learn more about the new Suzuki Celerio in the official debut which is expected in the near future.
