Anti-Drunk Driving Systems To Be Required In New Cars In America

It’s not only EVs that the Biden camp is pushing through. According to section 24220 of the upcoming $1 trillion infrastructure bill, there will be an effort to reduce drink driving with “advanced impaired driving technology,” which must be made standard equipment in all new passenger motor vehicles. The plan is to have the systems in place within the next three years, although the dates can change if needed, and the legislation even envisions a scenario where nothing happens for a decade.


Subaru Unveils Its First Mass-Market EV, The 2023 Solterra Crossover

Subaru’s latest collaboration with Toyota is a pair of EV crossovers. Launched shortly after the Toyota version, Subaru’s Solterra looks almost identical, save for a few differences, such as the taillights, front bumper design, and round fog lights. Although officially known as a prototype, what you see is 99.9 percent production-ready. The Solterra will come in two layouts, a front-wheel-drive model with a single electric motor delivering 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and an all-wheel-drive version with an electric motor on each axle producing a combined output of 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS). The driving range for the Japanese FWD model will be around 330 miles (530 km), while the AWD version will make 285 miles (460 km) before needing to be charged.


Nissan Prices 2022 Sentra From $19,510, Adds Midnight Edition

The 2022 Nissan Sentra will be priced the same as it was last year, with the compact sedan starting at $19,510 (plus a $975 destination fee). There will be a new “Midnight Package,” which builds on the sporty Sentra SR to freshen things up. It adds a black-painted V-motion grille, a black rear spoiler and diffuser, as well as black exterior badging and black 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.


Tesla Overtakes Mercedes And Becomes America’s 3rd Best-Selling Luxury Brand Through September

Tesla has overtaken Mercedes-Benz as the third best-selling luxury vehicle brand in the U.S. through the first three quarters of the year. A total of 230,855 Teslas were registered through September 2021. BMW led the figures, with 259,237 registrations, an increase of 36 percent. Meanwhile, the Bavarian brand was followed by Lexus in second place with 245,864 registrations, a jump of 33 percent. Mercedes, however, recorded only 213,708 registrations, dropping them behind Tesla.


Rivian Goes Public At $78 Per Share, Quickly Surges Past $100

Rivian is looking at an $11.9 billion payday as it went public with 153,000,000 shares priced at $78 each. CNBC noted the automaker could have an eye-popping valuation of $68 billion if “underwriters exercise their full purchase option,” which would make the company worth just $11 billion less than Ford. At the time of writing, Rivian’s stock is up to $105.56 and has already become the latest EV startup to go public.

Youtube is removing the counter for dislikes on all videos hosted. The button will remain so that you inform the algorithm about what you do and don’t like, but there will no longer be a visible count displayed against each video. The move is being made to encourage smaller creators as well as to reduce targetted dislike campaigns.


Paramount Pictures Pushes Back Release Of Transformers And Star Trek

Despite the film completing production earlier last month, Paramount pictures are pushing back the release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts from June 24, 2022, almost a whole year later until June 9, 2023. As a result, an upcoming Star Trek movie, which was scheduled to launch on June 9, 2023, has been pushed to December 22, 2023.
