BMW has released a huge gallery of the new 2022 M240i xDrive Coupewhile hosting members of the media to put the new sports car through its paces.

The M240i xDrive models featured in this gallery are finished in Thundernight Metallic and a simple shade of grey that actually looks quite nice. Of course, it is the purple shade of Thundernight Metallic that will turn the most heads out on the open road.

Regardless of whether you love or hate the exterior design of the M240i xDrive, or lesser 2-Series models, you’ll no doubt agree that it makes a statement. The front end is particularly striking thanks to the presence of the curiously-shaped headlights, LED daytime running lights, and triangular air intakes. Large kidney grilles are also featured – although, compared to those of other recent Bimmers, they look reasonably-sized.

Bulging front and rear wheel arches also add to the road presence of the M240i, as does the small lip spoiler on the tailgate. As for the design of those LED headlights? We’ll let you be the judge.

BMW has equipped the M240i xDrive with a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine with 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Mated to this engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission and a rear-biased all-wheel drive system. The car can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.1 seconds. U.S. buyers can also order the new 2-Series Coupe in 230i form, with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 255 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.
