A new entry-level variant of the Audi A7 L has just leaked in China, dubbed the 45 TFSI.
The 2021 A7 L was first unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April and has been developed through the SAIC joint venture. It is a long-wheelbase version of the standard A7 Sportback and initially hit the market in 55 TFSI guise with production capped at just 1,000 units. Fast forward to November and a new entry-level variant has been unveiled.

As its name suggests, the A7 L 45 TFSI doesn’t have the same 3.0-liter turbocharged mild-hybrid V6 as the 55 TFSI that delivers 335 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. Instead, it is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 245 hp. Coupled to this engine is a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission powering all four wheels.
Some minor visual tweaks have been made to differentiate the 45 TFSI. For example, the front grille has been tweaked and the air intake shrouds are now silver, as opposed to black on the 55 TFSI. No other notable changes have been made to the exterior of the car, although local media does state that it will be offered with no less than seven different wheel designs. Customers can also choose to have the door handles finished in body color or with a chrome finish.
The exterior measurements of the A7 L 45 TFSI are identical to the 55 TFSI. As such, it is 5,046 mm (199.8-inches) long, 1,908 mm wide, and 1,429 mm high with a 3,026 mm (119.1-inch) wheelbase. The car tips the scales at 1,920 kg.
It is not yet clear when local sales of the A7 L 45 TFSI will start nor how much it will cost.
