Customized Pickups And Mustangs Dominate Ford’s SEMA Display

Ford has left no stone unturned in readying an array of vehicles for SEMA that includes one particularly interesting 1978 F-100.

The automaker has focused most of its efforts on launching modified versions of its most popular pickup truck models, including the 2022 Maverick, Ranger and F-Series. Of these, the bright blue ‘Tucci’ Maverick you see below is one of the most striking.

Ford collaborated with Tucci Hot Rods on the project, equipping the Maverick with a widebody kit as well as a 3D-printed front lip and rear spoiler. It has also been fitted with unique aero cover wheels, sits on coilover suspension, and is powered by a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine coupled to a custom cat-back exhaust.

The F-100 Eluminator unveiled at the event is also intriguing. The vehicle started out life as a 1978 F-100 but has been outfitted with the same dual-motor powertrain as the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition. As such, it churns out 480 hp and 634 lb-ft (860 Nm) which is sent through all four wheels. The truck also has a striking Avalanche Gray paint job with Cerakote Copper accents.

As mentioned, Ford also modified six F-Series pickups for SEMA, some of which can be seen in this gallery. These include a lifted F-150 Tremor sitting on bronze wheels, Toyo all-terrain tires, and complete with a tent above the bed. An F-150 Lightning is also on display, although it hasn’t been fettled with. A number of customized Ford Mustang models are also on display.
