If you own a pickup truck and want to give it more power, you might want to take a look at Hennessey Performance.
The Texas tuner offers upgrade packages for some of the industry’s most popular trucks and that includes the Jeep Gladiator. Hennessey has been building its Gladiator-based Maximus since late 2019 and recently completed work on its latest example.
The most significant modification made the Gladiator is the fitment of a supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 that sits in place of the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. As this video shows, Hennessey doesn’t simply slot in this new engine and calls it a day. Instead, it removes the Gladiator’s body from the chassis and makes all the necessary modifications needed to allow it to lower in the engine and transmission with a forklift.

Hennessey doesn’t just opt for a regular Hellcat V8 either and has modified this one to pump out 1,000 hp and 933 lb-ft (1,264 Nm) of torque. This allows the truck to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds.
A host of other modifications are made to each Gladiator that leaves Hennessey’s workshop. They include a 6-inch lift kit from King, heavy-duty driveshafts, Dana 60 axles, and aluminum wheels with BFGoodrich off-road tires. Customers are also offered the option of bespoke front and rear bumpers, drop-down running roads, and LED auxiliary lights.
These modifications mean the Maximum isn’t just capable of some incredible straight-line performance but it is also right at home on difficult off-road trails.
