Honda will soon unveil a new five-seat small crossover in South East Asia at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).
The vehicle is expected to be named the ZR-V and is tipped to be based on the BR-V. Three teaser images have been released, suggesting that it will have a different design than other current Honda models.

The front of the Honda ZR-V appears to have headlights and daytime running lights similar in shape to current Acura models. It also features a blacked-out front grille and a large secondary grille lower down on the fascia. A photo of the SUV’s side profile showcases a pair of roof rails, a roof-mounted spoiler, angular D-pillars, and dramatic rocker panels.
As for the rear of the ZR-V, it’s probably the most eye-catching, thanks to the use of taillights that protrude out from the bodywork and are connected with a light bar.
Technical specifications about the vehicle haven’t been released but Paul Tan suggests it will probably feature the same 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine as the Honda BR-V, complete with 119 hp and 107 lb-ft (145 Nm) of torque. This engine will likely be coupled to a CVT driving the front wheels. It is also possible Honda will sell the ZR-V with a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder mill. The automaker’s e:HEV hybrid powertrain could also be used.
One big question surrounding the vehicle is whether it will be showcased as a concept at GIIAS or if it will be presented in production-ready guise. All will be revealed on November 11.
