The Ferrari 812 Competizione is a serious machine and might just be one of the finest cars ever built by the Italian marque.

The centerpiece of the car is its 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 that pumps out 819 hp and 510 lb-ft (692 Nm). Peak horsepower is reached at 9,250 rpm and the engine will continue to spin until 9,500 rpm. It is also the most powerful naturally aspirated engine that Ferrari has ever designed and sounds absolutely fabulous.

Ferrari recently invited a number of journalists to drive the car at the Fiorano testing facility and found below are some of the best reviews, coming from the likes of Evo, Piston Heads, and Autocar.

All reviewers are stunned with what they find. Dan Prosser from PistonHeads is blown away by how cohesive the car is, noting that it handles like a mid-engined supercar and that you can drive it like one. He adds that this could be the finest production engine he has ever had the opportunity to experience, noting that it pulls extraordinarily well throughout the rev range and has a simply sensational soundtrack. As if that wasn’t high enough praise, he says that the 812 Competizione is the best Ferrari he has driven and one of the most enjoyable cars ever built.

Ferrari claims that the new 812 Competizione will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.85 seconds and continue through to a 211 mph (340 km/h) top speed.

Just 999 examples of the hardtop model are being produced, while 599 examples of the open-top 812 Competizione A will be built. Apparently, all units have been sold.
