The very first Lucid Air models were handed over to customers in a special event in California over the weekend.

The delivery of its first vehicles marks a momentous occasion for Lucid. The Air was first unveiled way back in December 2016 and at the time, plans had called for the first units to be delivered in 2018. As is so often the case with automotive startups, a number of issues led to the car being delayed. Despite this, it appears to have been worth the wait.
Both the Air Dream Edition Range and Performance models are equipped with a 118 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The Range can travel up to 520 miles (836 km) on a single charge with the available 19-inch wheels and produces no less than 933 hp. By comparison, the Performance variant has a range of 471 miles (758 km) with the 19-inch wheels and delivers 1,111 hp.
The next variant that will be delivered to customers is the Lucid Air Ground Touring. It is priced from $139,000 before federal EV tax credits, delivers 800 hp and can travel 516 miles (830 km) with the 19-inch wheels.
