The 8-Series Convertible is the most luxurious open-top model in BMW‘s range with all variants offering more than enough performance for street use. However, there is always room for improvement so Manhart is offering a new tuning kit designed for owners of the M850i that want M8 levels of power and performance.

The tuning kit includes ECU remapping, upgraded turbochargers, a new intercooler, and sports air filter for the 4.4-liter biturbo V8, plus upgrades on the eight-speed automatic gearbox. As a result, the engine gets boosted from the stock 522 hp (390 kW / 530 PS) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) to an impressive 700 hp (715 PS) and 925 Nm (682 lb-ft) of torque. This makes the car more powerful than the stock M8 Competition that’s got 617 hp (460 kW / 626 PS) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque.

The car also gets Manhart’s stainless steel exhaust system with valve control and four carbon or ceramic coated tailpipes, while race downpipes without catalytic converter and OPF delete are also available. The braking system remains stock, but the suspension is upgraded with H&R springs, lowering the car by 30 mm (1.2 inches).

The MH8 700 Cabriolet is visually differentiated thanks to the addition of a splitter, a lip spoiler, and a diffuser, all made from carbon fiber. The 20-inch Manhart Concave One wheels are shod in mixed performance tires measuring 245/35 at the front and 275/30 at the rear. Finally, golden accents are added on the black-painted bodywork for a classic Manhart look, while inside, there are carbon-fiber accents on the steering wheel and carbon shift paddles.

Manhart didn’t provide pricing for the MH8 700 Cabriolet which sits below the even more powerful M8-based MH8 800 on the tuner’s range. For the record, the 8-Series is getting a facelift for 2022, however, we suspect that Manhart’s upgrades will also be compatible with the updated model and all other variants of the current M850i.
