It has already smashed it at the Nurburgring, setting a 7:04.511 lap at the fearsome circuit. Now, all that’s left for Porsche to do is tell us how the 2022 Cayman GT4 RS did it, which it plans to do at the 2021 LA Auto Show, which will run from the 19th to the 28th of November.
Termed the sharpest Cayman ever, the 718 Cayman GT4 RS is 23.6 seconds a lap faster than the already quite capable and track-focused Cayman GT4 around the Nurburgring. We therefore anticipate that, apart from any suspension and aero changes, it should also make more than the GT4’s 414 hp (420 PS/309 kW).
Along with the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, Porsche says that it will unveil the racecar version of the mid-engine coupe at the same show. The 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport will no doubt tear it up on the circuits of the world very soon.

It’s not all uncompromising performance, though, as Porsche also says that it has plans to unveil two new versions of the all-electric Taycan. The first will be a new “incredibly dynamic” variant that is positioned between the Taycan 4S and the Taycan Turbo. The former produces 522 hp (530 PS/390 kW) while the latter makes 670 hp (680/500 kW), so the new model should be pretty nifty.
Porsche says that the other new Taycan will introduce a third body style to the EV’s lineup. Previous reports have suggested that a Taycan GTS and a Taycan Sport Turismo model could be on their way. It is suggested that the Sport Turismo will be a wagon like the Cross Turismo, but will eschew the rugged body cladding.
Finally, Porsche says the Panamera Platinum Edition will make its public debut at the show. It includes “ultra-high-quality equipment” and ups the model’s luxury game.
All unveilings are planned for November 17 5:00 AM Central European Time, which is actually 8:00 PM California time on November 16 (11:00 PM EST).
