The Renault 4L is celebrating its 60th anniversary and the company has been marking the occasion with a handful of concepts.
The latest is the Air4, which was jointly developed with TheArsenale and will be unveiled on November 26th.
The companies didn’t say much about the model, but teased “The original R4 ventured just about everywhere: towns, countryside, deserts. And now for its 60th birthday, Renault partners with TheArsenale to take R4 up into the future.”

That’s pretty vague, but the teaser video reveals the concept will have a modern interpretation of the car’s iconic front end. As you can see, the concept sports an illuminated Renault badge, which is flanked by circular headlights with distinctive LED daytime running lights. We can also see vertical LED lights that pay homage to the chrome ‘handles’ found on the original.
Moving further back, there’s distinctive cladding which contrasts with orange TheArsenale badging. The concept also sports a 60th anniversary logo and what appears to be futuristic brake lights.
There’s no word on specifications, but the concept certainly gives off an EV vibe. That remains to be seen, but the company has already confirmed plans for an electric vehicle known as the 4ever.
