While we are waiting for the reveal of the all-new Ford Ranger, a tuning company from Thailand called Wat Ford created a wild version of the current generation featuring a custom bodykit inspired by the Mustang.
The pickup benefits from a new front bumper that mimics the styling for the now discontinued Ford Mustang Shelby GT350. The aftermarket LED headlights, the grille with the horse emblem, the shape of the bumper intakes, the splitter, and the white stripes make the Ranger look like it’s ready for the racetrack. In the video below there are scenes where the bonnet sits slightly open but we don’t know if this was because of fitment issues or just an accident.
Modifications are not limited to the front end either. The tuner added significantly wider bolt-on fender extensions, heavily tinted LED taillights, and a custom exhaust with dual pipes while opting for a rear bumper delete. The aftermarket air suspension reduces ground clearance for a more aggressive stance in combination with the new wheel/tire setup and the wider tracks. Last but not least, the black-painted Force Off-Road wheels are shod in all-terrain tires.

We don’t know what is hidden under the bonnet but as we can see from the video below, the tuning project started with a humble diesel-powered Ford Ranger with a double cab (XL) riding on steelies. The stock 2.2-liter Duratorq TDCi produces up to 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS) and 385 Nm (284 lb-ft) of torque, sending power to the rear wheels (4×2) through a six-speed manual gearbox.
The company hasn’t disclosed the cost of the bodykit but judging from their official Facebook page they will be willing to tune any kind of Ford Ranger according to the owner’s preferences.
