Anyone who has driven a Tesla Model 3 Performance will tell you that it is a quick car. Sure, the Tesla Model S Plaid may be getting all the attention as of late but as a sporty sedan, the Model 3 Performance ticks a lot of important boxes.
Giving the car its juice is a 75 kWh battery pack paired with two electric motors, one at the front and one at the rear, combined to produce 450 hp and 472 lb-ft (640 Nm). Those figures aren’t far off the current BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C 63 S and recently, AutoTopNL headed onto an unrestricted section of the German autobahn to test out the car.

Off the line, the Model 3 Performance needs just 3.4 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) and that’s a figure it can achieve without too much trouble, even if roads are damp. However, as this video demonstrates perfectly, the Model 3 Performance continues to accelerate with impressive pace beyond the 100 km/h mark.
The test saw it hit 100 km/h in 3.46 seconds, exactly in line with Tesla’s claims. The electric sedan continues to build speed with impressive ferocity beyond 100 km/h, requiring just 10.12 seconds to jump to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 10.12 seconds. It ultimately crossed the quarter-mile mark in 11.52 seconds and eventually topped out at 262 km/h or 163mph, more than fast enough to be used for high-speed journeys down the autobahn. Of course, driving an EV at speeds like these does quickly drain the battery.
