The TVR Sagaris is one of the more intriguing sports cars to ever come out of the UK and while it’s standard 4.0-liter V8 was no slouch, the owner of this Sagaris wanted something a little more special.

This unique Sagaris is featured in a recent video from Drivetribe and has ditched its V8 in favor of a 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated BMW V10. Work on the car is still ongoing so they were only able to drive it briefly but even still, it is shaping up to be quite the machine.

The V10 question is BMW’s iconic S85 unit that was built between 2005 and 2010. It was only ever used in the E60 BMW M5 and E63 BMW M6, as well as the Wiesmann GT MF5, and isn’t known as the most reliable engine out there. Nevertheless, it is good for 500 hp at 7,500 rpm and 384 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque in standard guise and also sounds exceptional.

It seems like the V10 fits into the engine bay of the Sagaris quite well and while it is slightly heavier than the old TVR V8, it is very marginal. It has also been coupled with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission of the BMW E92 M3 with power sent exclusively through the rear wheels.

While the reviewer isn’t able to push the car to its limits around the industrial area where it is being built, he says that when it’s finished, it will feel like it left the factory like this.
