Toyota has announced plans to introduce an assortment of vehicles at SEMA including a Tacoma overlanding concept and a desert chase Tundra.

While full details are under wraps, the teaser image shows the Tacoma has been equipped with a rugged front bumper that features a winch as well as auxiliary lights. The truck has also been outfitted with a snorkel, a roof rack and what appears to be a bed-mounted tent. We can also see meaty tires and what we presume is a lifted suspension.

The desert chase Tundra is more mysterious, but it’s based on the redesigned 2022 Tundra TRD Pro. A short teaser video suggests it will feature a bed-mounted roll cage with auxiliary lights, a spare tire carrier and fuel storage.

That’s not much to go on, but the Tundra TRD Pro is pretty rugged in standard form as it features a 1.1 inch (28 mm) front lift, a unique front stabilizer, 2.5-inch FOX internal bypass coilovers and remote-reservoir rear shocks. Other highlights include an aluminum front skid plate, underbody protection, an electronic locking rear differential and 18-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in 33-inch Falken Wildpeak tires.

More importantly, the truck has an all-new i-Force Max powertrain that consists of a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6, a nickel-metal hydride battery pack, and an electric motor that is effectively sandwiched between the engine and a ten-speed automatic transmission. This setup enables the model to produce a combined maximum output of 437 hp (326 kW / 443 PS) and 583 lb-ft (790 Nm) of torque.

Speaking of the Tundra, Toyota will also be displaying a “lifted and accessorized” model. It will be joined by the Tacozilla Tacoma Camper concept as well as previous concepts such as the TRD Sport Trailer, GR Supra Sport Top and GR Supra Heritage Edition.
