A day after Mazda officially revealed the new CX-50, the internet unofficially revealed its CX-60 big brother to save Mazda the bother.
A pair of the five-seat SUVs were spotted being filmed for an advert or marketing material, and screen grabs of the video files from the CSK Review Channel via Cochespias give a clear look at one of the models with absolutely zero disguise.
Compared with the rugged-looking CX-50, the CX-60 looks very much a road-biased SUV thanks to its smart white paint, color-coded wheelarch spats, low-profile road tires and a body design similar to the smaller CX-5.

Those arch trims are round, too, not tough-looking square jobs like on the CX-50, and the metalworks of the rear fenders is far less muscular. But the CX-60’s tall sides and shallow glasshouse gives it a tough vibe, nonetheless.
We don’t get a a look at the rear styling, but the view of the white car shows a family Mazda face where the chrome-framed grille (taller than on the CX-50), fades into the headlights. A second car, this one red, appears to be a sport-trimmed version, and ditches the chrome surround for black trim, giving an effect reminiscent of a Cadillac CT5-V.

More Mazda SUVs Coming Soon
The CX60 is just one a a fleet of five new SUVs Mazda is rolling out for 2022 and 2023. The CX-50 is one half of a Mazda-Toyota point venture, and destined only for the U.S. where it will be joined by the big CX-70 and its even bigger three-row sister, the CX-90, both featuring turbocharged six-cylinder gasoline engines, with the option of PHEV technology.
Over in Europe, which won’t get any of those three SUVs, Mazda is preparing to wheel out the CX-60 and its seven-seat alter ego, the CX-80, which are slimmer than their American-market counterparts so better suited to European and Japanese roads. And to better suit European and Japanese fuel prices they’ll primarily come with four-cylinder gasoline engines, though mild hybrid inline six and diesel motors will also be available.
