Want to make an impressive car even better? Transforming it into a high-riding estate is one way to do it.
The new Hyundai Elantra is a very competent sedan, as we recently discovered in our first drive of the car. It is comfortable, practical, drives well, and looks the part and while there are no signs of Hyundai offering it in multiple body styles, Kolesa has rendered it as a high-riding estate that could rival the likes of the Skoda Octavia Scout, Ford Focus Active Wagon, and Volkswagen Golf Alltrack.

The Russian publication has transformed the Elantra by increasing the ride height and extending the roofline. The car features black body cladding across the front and rear fascia and on the wheel arches; it also has a roof spoiler, a rear skid plate, and unique tailpipes.
Were Hyundai to produce a model like this, it could act as a compelling alternative to the Tucson by offering similar interior space and probably comparable off-road credentials, and it would be aimed at those who want a practical ride that can venture off-road but don’t want a crossover.
Unfortunately, ongoing demand for SUVs and crossovers means it is highly unlikely Hyundai will develop a wagon version of the new Elantra, let alone a high-riding model.
