BMW stopped making the i8 in June 2020, after six years of production without unveiling a successor. However, despite its age, the hybrid sportscar still looks quite the part and many of the 20,500 owners would like to further enhance its appeal through tuning packages. For those interested, AC Schnitzer is having a stock clearance shaving off around €5.6k ($6.5k) from the i8’s bodykit price with additional discounts for other models.
AC Schnitzer unveiled their final tuning package for the BMW i8 back in 2017, including visual and suspension tweaks. Today they are giving hefty discounts on most of the parts of the aforementioned kit, making it a tad more affordable.

Finally, the suspension spring kit which presumably improves handling and lowers the car by 20-25mm (0.79-0.98 inches) costs €444 ($514) meaning that it is only €23 ($27) cheaper than four years ago. As a reminder, this kit helped AC Schnitzer’s tuned BMW i8 to lap the Nurburgring at 8:16.8 which doesn’t seem like a great time but according to the tuner, it was the fastest ever for an i8 back in 2017.
BMW’s sportscar isn’t as powerful as the mid-engined supercar-like design and the fancy gullwing doors might suggest. The plug-in hybrid powertrain consists of a turbocharged 1.5-liter and an electric motor with a combined output of 357 hp (266 kW / 361 PS) for earlier models and up to 369 hp (275 kW / 374 PS) for late examples. The quickest car accelerated from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.4 seconds and had an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
