Jeep has announced a handful of updates to the 2022 Gladiator and Wrangler.

The changes are relatively minor, but entry-level Sport trims will no longer feel bare-bones as they largely ditch the tiny 5-inch infotainment system. Instead, buyers will find a larger and more advanced 7-inch display on everything except two-door Wrangler Sports without air conditioning.

Speaking of infotainment systems, the Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon now come standard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display. Likewise, the Gladiator Overland, Rubicon and Mojave now have a nine-speaker Alpine audio system and an 8.4-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation.

Furthermore, a passive entry system has been added to the Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon as well as the Gladiator Overland, Rubicon and Mojave. Both models also adopt a newly standard cabin air filter that removes 95% of  particulates, regardless of trim. Lastly, both models see Silver Zynith replace Billet Silver.

While the upgrades to the Gladiator end there, the Wrangler goes a step further as the Sahara 4xe plug-in hybrid now comes standard with blue tow hooks and blue accents on the wheels. The High Altitude 4xe also receives new 20-inch wheels and side mirrors with integrated turn signals.

Finally, off-roaders can rejoice thanks to a 4.88 axle ratio on the Rubicon that will allow for a 100:1 crawl ratio from the factory. It will initially be offered on models equipped with a six-speed manual and a 3.6-liter V6, but will eventually become available with the eight-speed automatic as well.

Pricing for the 2022 Jeep Wrangler starts at $29,725 while the Gladiator begins at $35,610 – both excluding a $1,595 destination fee.
