UK-based Radical announced a series of upgrades for the 2022 model year concerning the SR3 XX and SR10 track-only models, with order books already open.
The most notable change is the addition of an optional “halo” above the cabin, which improves driver safety. The F1-inspired black metal structure designed to comply with FIA specifications protects both the driver and the co-driver in the case of an accident without messing with the open-air feeling on the track.

Other upgrades applied to both vehicles include new lightweight cast aluminum or billet uprights for greater durability and longer service life, together with changes in suspension and new camber shims for easier geometry setup. The steering column has also been raised improving visibility and ergonomics. Finally, power steering, a larger driver’s seat, and a secondary display on the dash are available as options.
Additionally, the SR10 – which is the fastest-selling Radical with 80 sales since its debut earlier this year – benefits from a larger brake kit with revised disc and pad compounds fitted as standard, along with an engine remap for the turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. As a result the model brakes faster and accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 2.4 seconds.
The updated SR10 and the SR3 XX are already available to order through Radical’s 31 dealers in 21 countries, with the first deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2022.
The company, which is getting ready for its 25th anniversary in 2022, is enjoying its most successful year in terms of sales in 2021. Over the past two decades, Radical has sold more than 2,800 cars, while organizing a number of single-marque racing series in the UK, Europe, and North America.
