The C8 Corvette Z06 is no doubt a groundbreaking vehicle, so we can understand why Chevy would want to pump out as much material as they could with it. Now, it looks like another commercial is being filmed with the car, as it was recently spotted again shooting out on the racetrack.
The video was provided to CorvetteBlogger by user Corvette_Nut and was confirmed to be filmed at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, but not much else is known. Seeing as the new Z06 hasn’t made its way into the hands of customers yet, this is almost certainly an official filming from Chevrolet themselves, and that is only further supported by the fact that the last time the Z06 was caught shooting a commercial, the same Porsche Cayenne camera car was being used.

The Z06 is specced in a bold Accelerate Yellow with the Z07 performance package—which includes carbon fiber aero, carbon fiber wheels, larger brakes, and stickier tires—making for a very eye-catching subject. The Cayenne camera car chasing it has even become its own sort of celebrity in the automotive world too – with the kitted-out SUV being known for filming many a commercial in the industry as well as being the subject of an in-depth review by Doug DeMuro.
And although the video is very brief, we do get to hear a bit of the Z06’s new naturally aspirated flat-plane crank engine, which is always a treat. The 5.5L V8 makes a staggering 670 hp (679 PS / 500 kW) and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque, which is enough to earn it the title of the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever fitted in a production vehicle. It also allows the car to achieve a 2.6 second 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) time on its way to a projected top speed upwards of 200 mph (322 km/h), making it a proper supercar challenger in every sense.
