The Audi RS 3 and TT RS have been killed off in Canada due to emissions regulations.
Reports of the demise of the two vehicles first emerged on Reddit when an internal memo sent to dealerships was leaked online. This memo revealed that Audi would stop selling its potent five-cylinder engine in Canada. Both cars have also been removed from Audi’s Canadian website.

“Due to specific changes in the law for the registration of new vehicles in the Canadian market, it is no longer possible for Audi Canada to offer the 5-cylinder engine,” the memo reads. “Consequently, we regret to inform you that Audi Canada and its dealer network can no longer market and sell the RS 3 and TT RS in the Canadian market due to the inability to satisfy certain technical requirements.”
Local publication Driving spoke with Audi and confirmed that the reports are true.
In the memo, Audi specifically mentioned that the TT RS had been removed from its order guide and that all 2022 TT RS orders would be canceled in the coming weeks. The automaker added that it “will offer assistance to these brand enthusiasts, and is in the process of creating a customer care package.”
Audi will continue to make the track-only RS 3 LMS for the Canadian market and added that it could increase production of other Audi Sport models to counter the demise of the five-cylinder engine.
