Remember when Bentley was testing a long-wheelbase version of the Bentayga SUV? Feels like a long time ago now, but the British luxury brand has brought the model back out for another round of testing on public roads.

Caught testing on snowy streets, the test car is sporting familiar camouflage with Bentley’s “Beyond 100” branding on it that we last saw a little under a year ago. The back doors, once again, look much longer than the existing Bentayga’s suggesting that this model will offer even more room to rear-seat passengers.

Elsewhere, the SUV looks pretty much the same as any other Bentayga out there, which makes sense. We would expect this model to follow the “Extended Wheelbase” nomenclature set by the Mulsanne EWB.

What’s inside remains a mystery, but we wouldn’t be surprised to find a set of ultra-luxurious reclining rear seats for the well-heeled owner to rest in while being driven to wherever it is rich people go. Although vehicles with extended rear doors are all the rage in China, the gap left in the market by the dearly departed Mulsanne means that there could be a place for this model in other markets, too.

At 203.3-inches in length, the standard-length Bentayga is already reasonably large, so expect this new variant to be quite capacious, indeed. A seven-seat option is not expected, though.

What’s under the hood is also unknown to us at this point. Bentley is well-supplied with a powerful V8 and a big W12, and rumors suggest that the latter will be the one powering this big Bentayga. The Beyond 100 wrap does make us wonder if a hybrid version will be offered, though there is no obvious charging port to suggest that this one is a plug-in hybrid.

The Bentayga EWB was expected to launch at the end of this year, but this latest round of testing suggests that that date is being pushed back. Although there is no indication as to why the vehicle might be delayed, the ever-disruptive microchip shortage seems like as good a bet as any.
