Stunning BMW E30 M3s hit the used car market surprisingly frequently but making this particular example more special is the fact that it is a Convertible variant, which is significantly rarer than the normal Coupe.
In fact, whereas BMW built more than 17,000 E30 M3 Coupes, it only produced 781 Convertible variants. This particular example is finished in Diamond Black and appears to have been very well cared for over the decades, so much so that the paintwork has very few imperfections. Complementing the black paint are the original silver wheels.

The car has been listed up for auction through Collecting Cars and resides in Irvine, California. Found inside the car is M Tech striped cloth upholstery that’s complemented by areas of grey leather adorning the seat bolsters, parts of the door panels, and the dashboard. There is some minor wear visible on the seats but given that the car has been driven 81,300 miles (130,906 km), this isn’t a surprise.
Among the key features of the car include electric windows, heated front seats, and an M specification steering wheel and gear shifter. The listing adds that it is being offered with its original books and manuals, as well as BMW dealer stamped services. It underwent an oil change at a BMW dealership in October 2021 to get it ready for sale. It also recently received new tires and a front-end alignment.
Like the E30 M3 Coupe, the Convertible is powered by a 2.3-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four engine that drives the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
