A 1962 Porsche 356B Roadster that was created by Belgian coachbuilding firm D’leteren Frères is heading to auction in late January.
As standard, the 356 is quite a cool car but D’leteren Frères managed to make it even more desirable, building 473 examples of the T5 chassis-based 356 and 248 units on the T6 chassis-based models. This particular example is one of the T6-based 356s and will be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson.

The listing doesn’t provide too many details about the car but we can see it is painted in black, sports chrome front and rear bumpers and continues to sit on the original chrome-finished wheels. Chrome accents are also found around the headlights, taillights, turn signals, and fog lights.
Found within is tan leather that was installed in the mid-2000s and looks to be in superb condition. The car also has tan-colored carpets and a three-spoke steering wheel with a wooden rim.
Power comes courtesy of a 1.6-liter flat-four engine and whereas normal 356 models delivered 60 hp, from D’leteren Frères uprated the engine to 75 hp.
The listing does not detail the car’s ownership history but notes that it is being sold with no reserve and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. No mileage details are mentioned, nor is an estimated price. However, a similar 1962 Porsche 356B Roadster from D’leteren Frères was sold by RM Sotheby’s in 2019 for $467,000 and it’s likely this example will sell for close to that sum, or possibly even more.
