Following its debut this past June, the new-generation Lexus NX has arrived in Europe and the company published a massive gallery detailing the SUV from every possible angle. The new NX has already reached Lexus dealers in select European markets.
While the compact luxury SUV is available in ICE-only 250 and 350 forms in Eastern Europe and Russia, major markets like the UK will only be getting the electrified 350h hybrid, and the 450h+ plug-in hybrid. Despite sharing names and components, all variants of the EU-spec models have slightly different power outputs than the equivalent US-spec versions.
We Drive: The 2022 Lexus NX Embraces More Luxury, More Tech, And Plug-In Hybrid Power
The NX 250 comes with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder producing 196 hp (146 kW / 199 PS), while the NX 350 gets the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder producing 275 hp (205 kW / 279 PS). Both gasoline engines are mated to the Direct Shift eight-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels.
The NX 350h combines a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine with one (FWD) or two (AWD) electric motors resulting in a total system output of 240 hp (179 kW / 244 PS) in both cases. The hybrid system includes a 259V lithium-ion battery and a CVT gearbox.
The flagship NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid is equipped with a slightly detuned variant of the 2.5-liter Dual VVT-i engine and comes standard with dual electric motors (rated at 134 kW front and 40 kW rear). Combined output is increased to 304 hp (227 kW / 309 PS) which is slightly higher than the 302 hp (222 kW / 306 PS) of the US-spec model.
Naturally, this is the quickest of the bunch with a 0-100 km/h (62mph) acceleration in 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). There is also a larger 18.1 kWh 355V lithium-ion battery allowing a WLTP electric range of 69-76 km (43-47 miles) between charges. Using the 6.6 kW onboard charger, the battery can be fully charged in 2.5 hours from a 230 V/32 A outlet.

Depending on the market, the NX is offered in Business, Luxury, Executive, and F Sport trim levels with the Premium, Premium Plus, and Takumi packages. All variants come with pretty good standard equipment including the third-generation Lexus Safety System+.
The F Sport grade gest features like the Adaptive Variable Suspension with lateral performance dampers plus an extra driving mode (Normal, Eco, EV, Sport, Sport S+) while the Takumi gets Sumi Black Wood Inlay and Fully Automated Parking. Both of them get heated and ventilated seats with 8-way electrical adjustments, the largest 14-inch infotainment touchscreen (9.8-inch in lesser trim levels) combined with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch head-up display. For high-end trims, there is also an available bespoke 17-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround System.
How Much Does It Cost In The UK?
In Britain, prices start from £38,250 ($50,551) for the base-spec 350h FWD, and from £49,450 ($65,425) for the cheapest 450h+ AWD Premium Pack. The fully loaded 450h+ F Sport Tacumi Pack with sunroof climbs to £61,200 ($80,968). For a good measure, in the US, the 2022 Lexus NX is priced between $37,950 for the base-spec 250 FWD, and $56,900 for the flagship 450h+ AWD plug-in hybrid in the F Sport Luxury trim.
