Ford’s North American Product Communications director Mike Levine is in the midst of a Twitter storm after sharing a tweet from a disgruntled Tesla owner.
On December 26, Levine shared a tweet from Tesla Model Y owner Noah Webb who revealed that just four days after taking delivery of his electric SUV, he discovered a rattle coming from the rear driver’s side, creaking coming from the HVAC system, a water leak beneath the glovebox, and noted that the heating stopped working. While sharing the tweet, Levine wrote: “Sad to see an unhappy Tesla customer. You can help him, right?”
Before long, dozens of Tesla owners and a number of disgruntled Ford owners began to reply to Levine, suggesting that Ford has quality issues of its own that it should be focused on resolving.

In one tweet, the owner of a 2021 Bronco says he waited 512 days to take delivery of the popular off-roader and on the second day of ownership, began to notice a loud ticking sound emanating from the engine bay. Another former Ford owner claims his F-150 overheated and that his mother’s Lincoln was totaled by Ford service while undergoing warranty work. He says he now drives a Tesla Model 3 while his mom has a Model S.

“You’re such a class act Mike,” Twitter user Chris Minshall wrote. “You’ve got people convinced you give two shits about them as a Ford customer. Really, you’re awesome! Meanwhile your dealer network is marking up Mach-Es by 20k because they apparently don’t make any money on Ford products anymore. Well done!”
Minshall refers to himself as a “Tesla fanatic, former VP of Tesla Owners Club of Kansas City” and a “passionate Corvette collector” on his Twitter. Evidently, he isn’t the biggest Ford fan.
A host of other Twitter users have replied to Levine be sharing news articles about various recalls that Ford has issued over the years, including for the Mustang Mach-E and the Explorer.

“Tend to your own house,” another Twitter user replied. “Broncos are being delivered with leaking roofs, mis-matched interior parts, unpainted body panels, loose radiator hoses that when tightened hit the idler pulley bolt, etc. Not to mention the 2.7L engines that are coming apart, tie rods snapping.”
Levine has yet to reply to his original tweet. For what it’s worth, this isn’t the first time the Ford boss has gone after Tesla on his Twitter account. In March, he suggested that Tesla customers paying $10,000 for the automaker’s ‘Full-Self Driving’ feature are driving away with “vaporware.” He also criticized Tesla in April after the automaker doubled the price of its solar roof for some customers.
