After finally getting to the Nurburgring, one of a limited number of places on earth where a normal person with a normal car can truly experience everything that modern automotive engineering has made possible, it can be hard to remember that you still have to drive safely.

This compilation of dangerous, aggressive, and otherwise unsafe driving at the track makes for informative viewing. As cars with vastly different performance potentials and drivers with varying levels of experience jockey for space on the same narrow ribbon of tarmac, it’s clear to see that driving safely only becomes more important on a racetrack.

The video mainly focuses on cars that are too impatient to get past slower cars pushing too hard. A shocking number of the drivers looking to get past someone even go off the track and into the dirt.

A select few, though, involve a slower car working too hard to block a faster car from passing them putting both drivers in peril.

There are also a few shots that highlight the dangers of having motorcycles and cars on the same track. These reveal how drivers might not be aware that a motorcyclist can’t necessarily see what’s next to them in the middle of a corner. One shot, in particular, shows a motorcycle bumping into another vehicle that tried to pass it on the outside.

Mainly, though, the video highlights what is likely expressed before every open lapping event on earth. Track days aren’t for racing and getting by a slower driver isn’t nearly as important as staying safe when the stakes are as high as they are on a race track. Also, respect double waved yellow flags.
