Nissan produced a dizzying array of sports cars throughout the 1990s and early 2000s and the Fairlady Z is one of them.
Known internationally as the 300ZX but sold as the Fairlady Z in Japan, the car served as the replacement to the 280ZX and was produced between 1983 and 2000. Finding one on the used car market that hasn’t been abused is quite difficult but this particular 1995 example, listed up for sale in Virginia from Japanese Classics, appears to be in excellent condition.

This particular Fairlady Z immediately stands out as the previous owner had it painted in Midnight Purple, a color made famous by the Skyline GT-R. It also sports an aftermarket front bumper and has flared front fenders and distinctive side skirts. The body modifications continue at the rear with a bold wing and bumper package from Abflug. The car also has Work wheels.
Upgrades continue in the cabin of the sports car where there is a Nardi steering wheel and a RAZO shift knob. The Japanese Classics listing notes that the cabin is in good condition and also sports a carbon fiber pod on the dashboard housing a temperature gauge, boost gauge, and an oil temperature gauge.
Power comes courtesy of Nissan’s VG30DETT, 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine that has been equipped with new coilpacks, a Greddy boost controller, new intake box, a front-mount intercooler, and a new exhaust. Mated to the engine is a five-speed manual transmission.
While prices of many other Japanese sports cars from this time period have soared in recent years, this Fairlady Z remains ‘relatively’ affordable with a $25,995 asking price. Unfortunately, the original gauge cluster has been replaced, meaning the car’s true mileage is unknown.
