Crashed supercars are a sad sight, especially if they are multi-million one-offs like the Pagani Huayra Pearl. Notably, this is the second crash for the specially customized model which will be heading back to Italy for quite expensive repairs.

To freshen up your memory, the Huayra Pearl was crashed for the first time in July 2016 in Paris, just a few months after it was delivered to its owner. Back then the Italian supercar had sustained severe damage on the rear end but due to its value and collectability, it was fully repaired in Pagani’s headquarters.

The second crash happened a few days ago in Saudi Arabia. A video with the aftermath was uploaded on Instagram by Eng. Abdalla Alhammadi. It appears that the Huayra rear-ended a yellow Porsche Cayman GT4 on the highway during a traffic jam. As a result, the front parts of the carbon-fiber bodywork will need to be replaced alongside several other components. Thankfully the accident doesn’t appear to be as serious as the previous one and likely there weren’t any injuries.

Pagani is offering a variety of after-sales services to owners of the Zonda and the Huayra, including repairing or upgrading any example with factory-spec spare parts. Judging from the video, the bill for the repairs on the Huayra Pearl won’t be as high as the previous time since the chassis, the engine bay, and the largest portion of the bodywork appear to be intact. We hope that the owner stays safe and keeps driving their one-off Pagani on the roads – something that is quite rare in our time with most hypercars being treated as garage queens.

The Pearl was Pagani’s first custom-made Huayra, followed by other examples including  Manny Khoshbin’s Hermes, Alejandro Salomon’s 730S, and the more recent BC Roadster Supernova. The bloodline of Pagani’s second supercar after the Zonda started in 2012 with the stock Huayra, which was followed by the Roadster (2017), the more powerful BC (2016), the Roadster BC (2019), and the limited editions Imola (2019), Tricolore (2020), and Huayra R (2021).
