Chevrolet has decided to change the name of the Silverado-based off-road concept it built for the SEMA Show this year following objections from “an entity.” It will now look to rename the concept.
The bare-bones off-road truck designed to show the off-road potential of the Silverado platform and its LT4 crate engine will no longer be referred to as “the Beast” in its promotional materials.
“We were recently approached by an entity objecting to our use of the Beast name. The team is evaluating alternatives for the Chevy LT4 crate engine off-road concept vehicle shown at SEMA 2021,” a spokesperson told Muscle Cars & Trucks.

Despite the decision and the fact that Rezvani sells a custom sports car named the Beast, the spokesperson clarified that there was no trademark or copyright dispute over the name. So, the precise reason why they dropped the name isn’t entirely clear. Regardless, the company says that it is working on a new name for the concept truck.
As mentioned above, the Chevy off-road concept is based on a Silverado short-bed chassis and powered by an LT4 crate engine that makes 650 hp (659 PS/485 kW). Modified for high-speed desert running, the frame was shortened and a custom-designed 4130 Chromoly tubular safety structure was integrated to add strength and safety. Moreover, a long-travel off-road suspension system was designed specifically for the truck that sits on 20-inch beadlock wheels with 37-inch off-road tires.
So, if you were in charge of naming concepts at Chevrolet, what would you name the concept now that “The Beast” has been nixed?
