The driver of an E30 generation BMW 3-Series car got the fright of his life when he spun out in front of a police officer earlier this year. The full video below was originally posted to YouTube in April but was recently re-shared to Reddit where it has quickly gained a lot of traction.

The clip shows the young owner of a car taking his friends on a joyride. He can be seen speeding through an industrial area, ripping through the gears while his friends grin from ear to ear. However, things quickly unravel as the driver notices a Ford Explorer police cruiser exiting a nearby car park.

Clearly panicked, the driver hits the brakes, locking up and spinning 180 degrees before coming to a stop in the middle of the road, right next to the police officer. The first thing the driver tells his friends? “I’m getting arrested bro. That’s it. That’s the end of everything bro. My time here is over.”

A look at the driver’s YouTube channel reveals that he was driving his modified BMW E30 3-Series at the time. He has equipped the car with BMW’s M52 straight-six engine that originally debuted on the E36-generation 320i and thanks to a massive turbocharger, it is now pumping out over 500 hp.

Apparently the driver wasn’t arrested, as he feared, after the incident and actually ended up having quite a civil conversation with the police officer. Things could have ended up much worse as the driver didn’t actually realize that the police officer was sitting near a stop sign. Had he not seen the cop car and started to slow down, he may have sped straight through the intersection.

The YouTuber reveals that he was issued a summons for the incident but hired a lawyer and had his reckless charging offense reduced to just a $50 fine.
