If you had any doubts about Monday’s teaser being the 2023 Toyota Sequoia, you can put them to rest as the company has released a new image showing the nameplate on the SUV.
Set to debut on January 25th at 9:30 PM EST, the redesigned Sequoia promises to be a radical improvement over its predecessor as it will follow in the footsteps of the 2022 Tundra.
Toyota is keeping details under wraps, but the latest teaser shows the model will have slender taillights that are connected by a thin metallic stripe. We can also see edgier styling and a black accent on the bumper.

While the latest image isn’t very revealing, Monday’s picture showed the SUV will have a prominent shoulder line and a sleeker greenhouse with blacked out pillars. The 2023 Sequoia is also slated to feature stylized fenders reminiscent of the Tundra.
Plenty of questions remain, but we can expect a vastly improved interior with higher quality materials as well as an available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It should be joined by Toyota’s new Audio Multimedia system with 8- and 14-inch displays.
Engine options will presumably be shared with the pickup truck and this means there could be an entry-level twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 348 hp (256 kW / 353 PS) and 405 lb-ft (549 Nm) of torque. However, most models will likely come equipped with a more powerful unit developing 389 hp (290 kW / 394 PS) and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque.
Speaking of power, higher-end trims should have an i-Force Max powertrain that consists of a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine, a nickel-metal hydride battery pack, and an electric motor that is effectively sandwiched between the engine and a ten-speed automatic transmission. It enables the powertrain to produce a combined maximum output of 437 hp (326 kW / 443 PS) and 583 lb-ft (790 Nm) of torque.
