The all-electric Cadillac Lyriq is edging closer to showrooms across the U.S. and a completely camouflaged example was recently spied testing up close.
This particular Lyriq prototype that was filmed by YouTube Reese Capone is painted white but does stand out as it has a mismatching tailgate painted red. Odd tailgate aside, it is hard to ignore the car as it cruises down the road, looking unlike any other vehicles on the market and making a very bold statement with the complex LED taillights and LED daytime running lights up front.

Cadillac opened U.S. reservations for the Lyriq back in mid-September. While many EVs currently on the market are offered with a host of different powertrains, the Lyriq will only be offered with a single powertrain at launch, consisting of a 100 kWh battery pack and an electric motor driving the rear wheels with 340 hp and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque.
Underpinning the Lyriq is GM’s Ultium platform and it will be able to travel more than 300 miles (482 km) on a charge. It offers 190 kW DC fast charging speeds, meaning as much as 76 miles (122 km) of range can be added in as little as 10 minutes while after 30 minutes, the Lyriq is good for 195 miles (314 km) of range.
Cadillac is initially selling the Lyriq in the U.S. in Debut Edition guise. This variant comes standard with 20-inch wheels, an AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system, active noise cancellation, a heated steering wheel, 8-way adjustable power driver and front passenger seats, and a 33-inch display encompassing the gauge cluster and infotainment screen.
