In a brand-specific event that took place in Fuzhou, China, Jetour revealed the T-X, a rugged off-roader with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The model is still in concept form but it previews the TX series of production SUVs that will follow in the future.

Design-wise the Jetour T-X is borrowing elements from popular off-roaders like the Ford Bronco (front end) and the Land Rover Defender (greenhouse, rear end). It comes with illuminated Jetour lettering on the grille, LED headlights, boxy fenders, blacked-out pillars, and A/T tires. The yellow accents and the roof rack with integrated LEDs enhance the concept’s adventurous style.

Judging from the black windows, the Jetour X-T was likely a static full-scale prototype built for show purposes which means it doesn’t have an interior or a powertrain. However, Jetour said that the X-T is based on the brand new Kunlun architecture developed by Chery, using the “Kunpeng” plug-in hybrid powertrain. This will allegedly allow a combined range of 1,000 km (621 miles) and average fuel consumption of just 1.0 lt/100km (235 mpg). The concept is also featuring adaptive suspension and an all-wheel-drive system with a differential lock.

If the X-T evolves into a production model then it will fit in Jetour’s upcoming T series of models which will have a price range between ¥150,000-300,000 ($23,586-47,172) starting from 2023. Jetour is a sub-brand of the Chery Holding group that was founded in 2018 and is now selling more than 150,000 units per year. The Chinese company, which is also represented in other markets outside China, will be launching one or two new models every year in the SUV, pickup, and MPV segments.
