The Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06 is an absolute beast of a thing and, for some, it can be a lot to handle. This point is on full display in this video.
This clip was uploaded to YouTube earlier this month and filmed during a track day at Willow Springs raceway with not just any Corvette Z06, but a former Z06 rental car from Hertz.

Shortly after heading out onto the track, the driver can be seen exiting a sweeping left-hand turn at roughly 70 mph (112 km/h). The driver then hits the throttle a little too hard, spinning up the rear wheels and kicking out the car’s rear-end. While a more experienced driver would have been able to catch the slide, this driver wasn’t able to and appears to over-correct, suddenly sending the car to the right where it slides off the circuit and immediately hits a patch of dirt.
In many other circuits, there would have been a run-off area and the driver and his passenger may have escaped without issue. However, the moment the Chevy hits the dirt, it flips onto its roof and rolls multiple times. Images taken after the crash show the car resting on its roof. Fortunately, the two men involved in the crash don’t appear to have been injured and in a clip filmed in the pit lane after the incident, one of the men says “too much power, not enough grip.”
While it’s sad to see a Corvette Z06 like this get completely destroyed, the two occupants should be thanking their lucky stars that they made it out uninjured.
