2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Debuts With 664 HP, 400 Mile Range, And The Avalanche’s Midgate

Ford may have stolen a march on GM by revealing the F-150 Lightning last year, but Chevy’s Silverado EV is coming to do battle soon after. The new Silverado EV will debut in 2023 as a 2024 model and will be built on GM’s modular Ultium EV platform. There’s a 400-mile (644 km) range WT version that’s targeted at fleet use, while later on, a fully-loaded Silverado EV RST First Edition will appear with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing 664 hp (495 kW / 673 PS) and 780+ lb-ft (1,056+ Nm) of torque.

2023 Tesla Model 2: Everything We Know About The EV Brand’s $25,000 Compact Car

A compact car from Tesla would undoubtedly be a gamechanger and perhaps even more significant than the Cybertruck or Roadster. During the preview, the company announced that their first production BEV will be introduced in 2025, likely looking something like the Airflow. The brand will become all-electric by 2028, with Chrysler “at the forefront as Stellantis transforms to deliver clean mobility and connected customer experiences,” according to CEO Chris Feuell.

What Happens When You Drive A PHEV Without Gas?

With the electric range of your common PHEV being the average distance covered each day by drivers (20–25 miles), a plug-in hybrid could conceivably be run on electric power alone for most of its life. But what happens when a PHEV runs entirely out of gas but has some electric charge left? Would it allow you to motor on as an EV-only? Or will it just leave you stranded? To find out, our very own Chris Chilton set off in a Ford Kuga/Escape PHEV with a jerry can and hope.

” Meet Jack Wendel, The Man Who’s Spending $100,000 To Create A C2 Inspired Coachbuilt Corvette C8

Jack Wendel’s project work has prompted a few strong reactions, but perhaps none as strong as what he’s doing to his C8 Corvette. The theme is ‘what might the C2 have looked like if GM had made it mid-engine.’ Wendel told us that “Those that believe I’m trying to ‘convert the C8 Corvette into a C2’ will obviously be critical of the results because they are using the wrong yardstick to measure it by.”

Quick Spin: The Toyota Mirai Is A Comfortable And Stylish Fuel Cell Flagship And Classic Drive: Alfa Romeo’s 147 GTA V6 Still Makes Every Other Hot Hatch Feel Like White Goods

A car from the future and a car from the past: this week we drove both a Toyota Mirai and an Alfa Romeo 147 GTA V6. The Mirai may run on a fuel from the future, but it doesn’t feel like some half-baked prototype. Meanwhile, the 147 GTA is a reminder of a hot hatch that didn’t sell in numbers, but now deserves a shot at redemption.
