It shouldn’t have to be said, but when behind the wheel one must always pay attention, especially when driving at high speeds. If you don’t, you could end up like this distracted driver, who ended up causing a multiple-vehicle crash on I-95 in Maryland.

The driver’s Chevy Silverado can be seen cruising in the left lane of the highway when it is revealed that the traffic up ahead has come to a standstill. The two cars in front move out of the way to a faster lane, but the Silverado’s driver must have been distracted, as they continued in their lane at their current speed until they were mere feet from the Ram ProMaster van in front. They then slammed on the brakes and tried to swerve out of the way into the shoulder, but it was too late.

The Silverado smashed into the ProMaster, demolishing its front end. The van was then sent into the Toyota Tacoma in front of it, followed by a semi-truck two lanes to the right of it, then back into another semi-truck in the original lane. A Mazda CX-30 and Ford F-150 narrowly missed becoming part of the carnage, and their drivers, along with the person recording, immediately went to help as soon as all involved vehicles came to a stop.

According to that person recording in a longer version of the video, none of the involved parties were injured except the Silverado driver. Additionally, while the Tacoma suffered bed and fender damage, and the ProMaster had frame and front end and damage, both semi-trucks sustained only minor dents and scratches to their trailers.
