The very first production example of the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be auctioned off for charity later this month by Barrett-Jackson.
Funds raised from the sale of the Corvette Z06 will benefit Operation Homefront, a charity that assists military families. Importantly, production of the Corvette Z06 has yet to commence so the winner won’t actually walk away with the keys to the new supercar on the day and will instead secure the very first VIN and have the opportunity of speccing out the car to their taste.

Chevrolet routinely partners with Barrett-Jackson to auction off the first production examples of its newly-released performance models. Car collector Rick Hendrick is particularly fond of purchasing these cars and paid $3 million for the first 2020 C8 Corvette Stingray that was built.
The new Corvette Z06 will hit the production line in the summer of 2022 and has already generated heaps of buzz for the car manufacturer. Much of this hype is because of the car’s 5.5-liter naturally aspirated LT6 V8 that features a flat-plane crank, forged aluminum pistons, titanium connecting rods, and dual throttle bodies. It is good for 670 hp and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) of torque and revs through to 8,600 rpm.
The supercar is expected to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.6 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds. Customers will also be able to order it with a high-performance Z07 package that adds an enlarged front splitter with aerodynamic canards, carbon fiber wheels, and a fixed rear wing.
