Milestone, the studio behind the Hot Wheels Unleashed video game, today announced an expansion pack for it. It will add monster trucks and more to the game as of April 21, 2022.

Details are still scant, but Mattel and Mileston promise that the Monster Truck Expansion pack will take “races to a monstrously large dimension.” It includes five new vehicles, a themed track builder mode, and themed customizable items for the Basement and the player’s profile.

It will also include a brand new environment where players can race and build tracks, the Stop Motion Studio, which has four monster dioramas to play in and “unleashes the power” of the new monster trucks. The locations to race in are the Jungle, the Quarry, the Desert, and the Ice Mountain.

The new expansion is included in the Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 2, which also comes with nine vehicles, three themed customization packs, and three track builder modules. It can be purchased as of February 17, 2022, and will further include the Ultimate Stunt Edition and is available in digital stores only.

Released in September 2021, Hot Wheels Unleashed gives you control over a number of Hot Wheels diecast models for an arcadey racing experience that combines the toy’s charm with the drifting, boosting, and jumping of racing video games.

At launch, the game featured 60 cars, including classics like Rodger Dodger, Twin Mill, Rip Rod, Night Shifter, Dragon Blaster, and Sharkruiser.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is available on the PS4 and PS5, as well as a range of Xboxes, PCs, and the Nintendo Switch.
