Ola Electric, an Indian company that produces electric scooters, is getting ready to join the auto industry with its first electric car. A rendering of the EV was shared on Twitter by Ola Electric’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, showing futuristic styling.

Ola’s first car looks like a concept with an aerodynamic and highly curved front windscreen merging with the rest of the greenhouse for a pillar-less look. It comes with a full-width LED bar at the front, four doors, a hatchback silhouette, and aero wheels. Unfortunately, the post didn’t include more information about the vehicle other than it will be fully electric.

The Bangalore-based firm is currently producing the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro e-scooters but Aggarwal has expressed his interest in expanding the range with a four-wheeled vehicle. Back in August, when a Twitter user asked him what kind of car does he drives in terms of powertrain, the CEO replied: “Never owned a car till 2 months ago. Now a hybrid. Next one will be electric in 2023. Ola’s electric car”. This could mean that the development of the EV is already underway even though a 2023 market launch seems too optimistic.

The ambitious goal of the company, which is currently valued at $5 billion, is to ensure that no petrol-powered two-wheelers are sold in India after 2025. Besides its home market, Ola Electric plans on exporting its scooters to Europe, Australia, and South East Asia starting from 2023.
