Few rear-wheel drive performance cars are wilder than the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and while it is good value for money considering how much power it has, it is still out of the price range of most consumers. Thankfully, we mere mortals can now purchase a Shelby GT500 for far less thanks to Lego Technic.

The model consists of no less than 544 pieces and measures 3-inches high, 10.5-inches long, and 4.5-inches wide. A couple of years ago, a Lego enthusiast created his own Shelby GT500 model from Lego bricks but it wasn’t available to purchase.

Lego opted to adorn the GT500 in a shade of green complete with white racing stripes. It includes various details that you’ll find in a full-scale GT500 such as a pronounced front splitter, hood vents, and a larger rear lip spoiler. The scale model muscle car has also been equipped with a bold diffuser. Morover, unlike some other Lego Technic models, this one also features two pull-back motors, meaning it is fully operational.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 model is available on the Lego website for $49.99.

As a reminder, the actual Mustang Shelby GT500 is powered by a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 pumping out 760 hp and 625 lb-ft (847 Nm) of torque, meaning it comfortably outmuscles the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. Ford recently altered the GT500 range for the 2022 model year, dropping the optional Carbon Fiber Handling Package that sits between the $1,500 Handling Pack and the $18,500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack.
