Shelby’s Latest Ford F-150 Raptor Combines Baja Looks With 525+ HP

If Shelby’s F-150 Super Snake didn’t tickle your fancy, perhaps the company’s take on the F-150 Raptor will be more up your alley.

Looking ready for action, the off-road focused pickup features a prominent Shelby-branded grille that resides above a heavy duty steel front bumper. The model has also been equipped with a ventilated ram air hood, auxiliary lights, and a bed chase rack system with two full-size spare tires.

Speaking of the latter, the truck rides on 18-inch Shelby Raptor wheels wrapped in 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 mud-terrain tires. The model also has a BDS Suspension lift, power deployable side steps with rock sliders, and Shelby graphics.

Interior changes are relatively modest, but buyers will find unique seats with Shelby Raptor Baja embroidery on the backrests. They’re joined by carbon fiber trim, billet pedals, an individually numbered plaque, and special floor mats.

Under the hood, the twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 has been equipped with a performance upgrade kit. It includes a new intake with a high-flow filter, an oversized air intake tube, an upgraded intercooler, and a one-piece heat shield. More notably, the truck has a proprietary performance tune that enables the engine to produce more than 525 hp (391 kW / 532 PS) and 610 lb-ft (826 Nm) of torque on premium gasoline. That’s a decent upgrade over the standard model, which has 450 hp (336 kW / 456 PS) and 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque.

The Shelby Ford F-150 Raptor is currently available in “limited quantities” and the turnkey model starts at $124,820. However, that’s pretty pricey considering the standard F-150 Raptor starts at $65,375 before a $1,695 destination charge.
