The E38 BMW 7-Series is widely regarded as one of the best-looking sedans of all time. Given that, it would make sense that a proud owner of one would want it to look its best, and that’s exactly what the talented folks over at Topaz Detailing did in their latest video as they gave it a full visual revitalization.
The process begins with an exterior decontamination, the first step of which includes thoroughly rinsing the car to remove any initial grime from the car. After that, the BMW‘s wheels are treated with a non-acidic cleaner, brushed to dislodge any remaining dirt, then rinsed clean. Next, the body is sprayed with a fallout remover followed by snow foam soap, and any gaps are brushed to further remove any trapped dirt. The soap is then rinsed away, and the body is shampooed, clay barred, and dried to round off the cleaning process.

The next phase of the restoration is paint correction, but before they begin, everything on the 7-Series that isn’t paint—including windows, trim, wheels, etc—is masked off. The paint is then corrected in three varying stages of compound and polish, inspected to determine if any extra work is needed, then finally touched up as necessary. The final phase of the restoration process was detailing the interior, which along with the engine bay, were both already very well cared for and didn’t need much tidying up.
