The Brillanté Is A 1989 Corvette Designed To Look Like A Ferrari Testarossa Convertible

A bizarre 1989 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible designed to look like a Ferrari Testarossa has sold at auction for an undisclosed amount.

The car is officially known as the Brillianté by the company that built it and started out life just like any other Corvette Convertible. It was then sent to Classic International who charged $37,000 to overhaul both the exterior and interior to make it look somewhat like a Testarossa.

Among the modifications made was the fitment of revised front and rear fascias, restyled doors, steel rocker panels, and bespoke fenders. The car also received a new paint finish and sits on 17-inch wheels with 275/40 tires at the front and 315/35 ones at the rear. Classic International also worked on the Corvette’s suspension, fitting Monroe Formula GP shocks, polyurethane control arm bushings, a new rear roll steer control kit, modified springs, and a camber control kit.

A look inside the cabin reveals a Momo steering wheel, a CD player with a 100-watt amplifier and six speakers, an alarm system, new leather surfaces, and a host of wooden accents.

The car also features a new 5.7-liter Chevrolet V8 upgraded with Carillo rods, a forged crankshaft, forged pistons, modified aluminum heads, an upgraded manifold, new plenum, and larger injectors. This engine was good for 365 hp and 430 lb-ft (583 Nm) of torque back in the day and is coupled to a four-speed transmission with a beefed-up torque converter.
