A motorcyclist in California has found out the hard way what can go wrong if you share footage of yourself speeding on a public road.
This clip was recently shared to the CHP – West Valley page on Facebook by the California Highway Patrol and initially shows an officer speaking with the motorcyclist after pulling him over. The video was shared to TikTok by the biker and shows the officer telling him that he was stopped for riding at 90 mph (144 km/h).

The officer asks to see the motorcyclist’s license and registration but he initially appears reluctant to provide them and repeatedly asks if he can speak with him. The officer says he can talk after he hands over his papers. The biker eventually complies and claims that he never broke any law. The police officer quickly responds that he was doing 90 mph but the biker denies it, claiming that he was doing 61 mph (98 km/h) and that he had the GoPro footage to prove it.
However, footage also uploaded to social media by the motorcyclist shows that he actually hit 101 mph (162 km/h) when exiting a flowing right-hand curve on the road and did so directly in front of the officer and his Dodge Charger patrol car.
The California Highway Patrol’s Facebook post doesn’t reveal if the biker was fined for speeding or if he was reprimanded in another way. Whatever the case may be, this incident proves just how dimwitted it is to publish a video of you breaking the speed limit on social media.
